Mac Apps I Can’t Live Without

I use many of the apps that comes with OS X, such as Calendar (I have it hooked into a Google Calendar I share with my wife), Reminders, Messages, and Notes. What Makes a Word “Real”?

This video is fantastic. I love the moment when she asks, "Who regularly refers to a dictionary either in print or online?" Almost every hand in the audience goes up. Best Ting Deal I’ve Seen

Ting is offering it's best deal ever—I know, because I've had Ting from its earliest days. Get $100 credit on a phone or $100 off service by clicking this referral link—and I get $50 of service credit. Plus, Ting has the best website and the best customer service with real people who speak English. Like American English. Our Ting bill for two iPhones, both purchased used for under $200, has averaged $54.01 over almost two years. (And with a little more self-discipline we could've...

When Scholarly Arguments about Homosexuality Are Inaccessible

No matter what field of study you name, there will be people in it who are arguing over your head—even if it's your own field of study, the one you trained in. There are countless topics in the broad field of biblical studies that I am not qualified to say much if anything about: Hebrew calques from Ugaritic (I think they exist), Monothelite Christology (it's either bad or good, can't remember, but I know where to look it up), and anything in Aramaic (it uses the same letters as...
