A good quote I just ran across, a helpful reminder during the time in which people are fighting over ownership of the label “conservative”:
Tradition ist die Weitergabe des Feuers und nicht die Anbetung der Asche.
Tradition is the passing on of the flame and not the worshiping of the ashes.
Not Bible, but helpful nonetheless. There are things conservatism is trying to protect, not because they are old but because they are valuable.
