Seven ABCs of Child Discipline from The Shepherd Leader at Home
"The seven ABC’s of discipline" from The Shepherd Leader at Home: Ask the Lord for wisdom. Be sure the line has been crossed. Confront and clarify. Deliver the promised consequences. Explain additional consequences of the action. Forgive completely. Graciously restore and move on. Normally, my eyes glaze over when I encounter acrostics (except for "ACPADI")—because of a negative experience I had with a particular author in grad school who packed his book so full of acrostics that he had to...
Review: The Shepherd Leader at Home: Knowing, Leading, Protecting, and Providing for Your Family
The Shepherd Leader at Home: Knowing, Leading, Protecting, and Providing for Your Family by Timothy Z. Witmer My rating: 3 of 5 stars Timothy Witmer, professor of practical theology at Westminster Seminary, is best known for his book The Shepherd Leader: Achieving Effective Shepherding In Your Church. But as I always say, it's very important never to confuse what you put in your baby's mouth with what you send to conflict-ridden regions of the globe. A word's etymology may be helpful if we don't have better clues to its meaning. But all words, like sheep, have gone astray from their...
