I live my life in the grip of a few powerful, simple, biblical ideas. One of them is CFR: Creation, Fall, Redemption.
CREATION
One of my literary heroes said, “God, who needs nothing, loves into existence wholly superfluous creatures in order that He may love and perfect them.” But God didn’t just create us; he lovingly created a world for us to fill, subdue, and have dominion over. Creation begins the story of the Bible and forms the basis for a Christian worldview. It explains why there is so much truth, goodness, and beauty in our world.
FALL
But creation isn’t the end of the story of the bible. We all fell in our father Adam, pulling all of creation into the same hole we jumped into. We are born rebels, and all creation groans because of its bondage to the corruption we introduced into God’s good creation. This fall, then, is an essential building block for a biblical worldview, because it explains why there is so much falsehood, evil, and ugliness in our world.
REDEMPTION
But God is in Christ reconciling the world to himself, Paul says, making peace through the blood of his cross. “All things” will be reconciled, the Bible says. God has not given up on us or on his good creation. The hope of the Christian is not bodiless existence in a spiritual place, but resurrection and a new earth. God will restore all creation to it’s intended functions and its intended purpose: his own glory.
Creation, Fall, Redemption has incredibly practical implications for Christians today, and we’re going to explore those implications for marriage and sexuality, government, history, Science, and culture and the arts.

Hello Mark I was just reading your blog, I have just purchased the platinum LOGOS and am hoping to be able to learn Gods Word more intimately. I hope that this was the right move for me. SO reading on what you wrote on Fall why is there so much This fall, then, is an essential building block for a biblical worldview, because it explains why there is so much falsehood, evil, and ugliness in our world. Do you have this lesson that I can study? Thank you In Christ Kim
Kimberly, you just need to buy the book of which I was privileged to be lead author and general editor: Biblical Worldview: Creation, Fall, Redemption. I can give more book recommendations, of course, but that’s where I’d start.
If you have just purchased Logos Platinum, you will definitely want to take the free 30-Day Bible Study Challenge. I wrote two of the lessons; the rest were written by a respected friend.
