Are you tired, run down, listless? Or have you ever had to find these or similar nested menu items and spent fruitless minutes searching? You know Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop or Google Chrome can perform a certain task, but you forget where it’s located in the menu system.
If so, then you need to join the millions of happy, peppy people who have 1) purchased Macs and the thousands of happy, peppy people who have 2) learned this trick that I constantly wish my Windows machine had.
Under “Help” in the main menu for every Mac app, there is a search box. You can call up help by hitting Cmd+Shift+/ (which translates to Cmd+?), and you can type in whatever command you’re looking for. It’s automatically selected for you, reminding you where it is for the future. And you can execute it right there.
