They Hate Christ Even by His Other Names

The standard line on the new Narnia movie:

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Around the time the kids are tiring of “The Deathly Hallows,” the Pevensie family will be returning to the screen for a little adventure of their own. Or, make that half of the Pevensie family, with only Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes) boarding the Dawn Treader for an adventurous ocean voyage full of dragons, dwarfs and no doubt that annoying lion (voice of Liam Neeson) spewing spiritual gobbledygook.

Now, to be fair, it’s possible that the two previous (IMHO) annoying and deficient Narnia movies have made it only that much more difficult to find Aslan appealing. But insofar as Aslan is an accurate representative of the Son of the Emperor in our world (and in the Narnia books, at least, he’s close to a dead-ringer), you can’t expect citizens of his arch-enemy’s kingdom to like him.
