Media Are Not Neutral

I wrote the title above as I was progressing through this little counterpoint blog at the New York Times. And then I ran into this statement from Yale prof (and Unabomber victim) David Gelernter: The tools (as usual) are neutral. It’s up to us to insist that onscreen reading enhance, not replace, traditional book reading.
