Brian and Joy on honeymoon My best man and ever “former roommate” got back to work today after a two-week honeymoon. I had the real privilege of serving as his best man, in fact. My arms and legs almost fell off standing up there waiting for the official hitching to take place, but it was all worth it.

Congratulations, Brian and Joy!

Joy, in four years you will pass me as Brian’s longest-term roommate. I know for a fact that you got the best-read student at Bob Jones Seminary. Now will you please take up some more of his time so someone else has a chance at that title?

What is Your Position on Complementarianism and Egalitarianism?

A female professor of Christian ministry just sent me a survey to fill out. I don't consider myself an expert in this area, but I certainly have tried to be responsible—this is one of those places where the battle over truth is fiercest in my generation. Here were my...

Does “By Faith We Understand” (Heb 11:3) Have It Backwards?

A Christian friend who struggles with doubt recently wrote me asking why I chose the name of long-time blog, byfaithweunderstand.com. Today I was thinking again about those four words “by faith we understand” and I feel a physical reaction to it. It’s hard to swallow...

Have You Ever Doubted the Christian Faith?

A young aspiring pastor recently asked other pastors in a Facebook group what kinds of doubts they’ve had about Christianity, and what they’ve done with those doubts. I replied… I went through a several-month period of doubt during my senior year as a Bible major at...

Mark, I’m looking forward to the day when I can say I’m the longest-term roommate Brian has had. He is amazingly well read and as you can imagine, we have wonderful edifying conversations at home. I love learning from him. As far as taking up more of his time, I think I do, but since we both enjoy reading, part of that time is taken up in reading together.:)Thanks for being in the wedding and for you and Laura singing!
